With years of experience in patent law across a range of technologies and industries in the U.S. and abroad, I still enjoy working with each of my clients on a case-by-case basis to serve their business needs. From preparation, filing and prosecution to litigation, trials and appeals, I’m prepared to assist clients to secure their intellectual property rights—and, more importantly, to contribute to the success of their innovations and businesses.

To serve your national and global intellectual property needs, I maintain relationships with top lawyers who assist in protecting your innovations in other regions and countries.

Legal and technical experience

Before entering the private practice of patent law, I served for two years as Law Clerk to the Honorable Edward S. Smith, Circuit Judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. During this time, I worked on hundreds of appeals from the Patent Office and federal courts and tribunals. Since then, I have continued building an extensive network of contacts worldwide through my leadership and involvement in U.S. and international professional associations.

I’ve worked with clients locally, nationally and internationally across many industries and technologies, including:

  • Chemicals and polymers
  • Computers and computer-implemented inventions
  • Internet-based applications and services
  • Manufacturing and processes
  • Mechanical and electro-mechanical devices
  • Medical information systems and devices
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Software

Today, I often act as co-counsel with referring attorneys in patent infringement litigation in U.S. district courts and the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) as well as appeals in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
